SIMS New Users - No prior knowledge of SIMS is required. This training is carried out over 2 half day sessions and it is advisable that delegates book on both sessions - session 2 is detailed separately.
Using typical scenarios encountered on a regular basis, the course takes a new user through the main procedures for maintaining accurate and useful data within the school's Management Information System. Accurate data can both inform school improvement strategies and support a wide range of School Management activities including processing statutory returns.
By the end of the course you should have the necessary skills to use SIMS in a School Office environment including: . Finding your way around SIMS. . Looking up student information. . Making day to day adjustments to student details. . Responding to information received about students and contacts. . Sending a letter home. . Dealing with new arrivals and leavers. . Using the School Diary. . Adding Agents and linking them to Agencies. . Recording exclusions. . Updating parental Salutation and Addressee Fields. . Using general housekeeping routines.
There is no charge for this training.
It is advisable to book a place on both session 1 and session 2
You will need to reserve your place. Once you complete your booking, you will receive confirmation, via an automated email, sent to the email address used on the application. We do not ask you to provide a contact number at the time of booking however we will contact you, before the course, so that you can give us a number we can use to contact you in the event of an emergency.
If you are unable to attend the course and do not tell us you are unable to attend, at least 5 working days prior to the course taking place, we will need to charge your school a £25.00 cancellation fee.
